#1 Arm wrestling!
Scott did a great job of coaching and laying some ground rules...
...reminders to keep elbows on the table and a suggestion that standing might aid in both strength and positioning...
...especially wonderful as I watched to see both children end up as victor, and how wonderful that they didn't even realize (yet!) that it was a challenge!
A new duo of curly headed opponents! Coach Scott sets the ground rules and helps the challengers get in position...
Once more, each one experiences the thrill of victory and never the agony of defeat!
With our final pair, Scott introduces a twist...
#2 THUMB wrestling!
Later in the morning, as we were all getting hungry for lunch, we needed to provide some fuel for our bodies. That meant making (#3) the world's biggest sandwich...
This one had some peanut butter, celery, cheese, ham, spinach, mayo, jelly and honey on it. Yum! (As each child took their place in the sandwich, they named the ingredient they were in the sandwich)
We covered them up with some delectable whole grain bread (even though I know it looks like a tumbling mat) and now it was time to flatten that very highly stacked sandwich so we could take a bite...
Here come the rolling pins, pencil rolling their way across the sandwich!
Boy, that sandwich does a lot of giggling!
Now it's time for another sandwich! We're a mighty hungry crowd with diverse palettes...
Ham, cheese, pickles, mustard, you name it, we've got the sandwich!
Topped off with fresh baked bread! You know what's coming next!
Roll it and pat it and mark it with a <giggle>...
It is almost as fun to be on the outside of the sandwich as it is to be on the inside!
