Everything with Joy: Ramps and Archways Redux

I have been very excited about the interest in the ramps and archways. They don't come out every day, and it's been a while since the clever use of the arch for a loop de loop, but I have watched and waited.

Today, Enzo made a new discovery!

He placed an empty cylinder at the end of the ramp...

...set a ball in motion...

...and down went the cylinder! He discovered this on his own, and then searched me out to see. I watched and this was perhaps his 10th or 12th successful trial, caught with my camera.

I suggested he add the arch.

Success!

Lots of success!

Before you know it, everyone was testing Enzo's theory!

Celia contributed the idea of a multiple arch tunnel.

Jacob tested it...

What did everyone else do today?

Kevin did puzzles...lots of puzzles. He matched these animals to their shadows, and then pulled out some wooden jigsaw puzzles and did those, and then pulled out some spelling puzzles and did those...

Celia and Lili worked on beads. These beads require a lot of patience. As Miles instructed, "You just put the beads on those little pokey things..."

Meanwhile Jacob and Liam are busy with a marble game at the light table...

This track utilizes little silver metal marbles that were so enticing, they kept traveling around the classroom and we'd have to retrieve them back since they were just the right size for this activity...

At the art table, Remy chose to mix his own colors for painting...

Like I said, these beads require lots of patience and concentration and super fine motor skills for lining the beads up on the pokey things...Alessandra assists Miles with his pattern, which he later abandoned in favor of all blue...

Grady enjoyed the feel of picking the beads up and letting them rain through his fingers...

Declan dressed his Me Doll! All done!

Nathan visits the marble run at the light table...

A moment before, Alessandra had a tall domino structure. Kevin came around the corner and Boom! No worries, he sat right down to help rebuild it!

Chene is taking the utmost care stuffing her Me Doll all by herself! She does a little every day and she's very good at getting the stuffing all the way down in the foot!
